SeedMatrix: A Cotton Variety Selection Resource for NC Cotton Producers

— Written By

Thanks to a partnership with Cotton Incorporated, there is a new online resource available for NC cotton producers to evaluate variety performance. Through this partnership with SeedMatrix.com, this resource is free for NC cotton producers. SeedMatrix.com is an online database that allows users to customize variety comparisons by selecting criteria including soil type, irrigation, geography, and years. This database also includes OVT as well as on-farm trials.

Cotton Incorporated has also partnered with the Plant Management Network to develop a Focus on Cotton Series of voice-recorded presentations that address various production issues across the belt. One such presentation discusses and illustrates some of the functions of the SeedMatrix database. This presentation can be found at the following:

  • Go to http://www.plantmanagementnetwork.org/edcenter/
  • Under the “webcast” dropdown menu, select “Focus on Cotton”
  • Under “Latest Webcasts”, select the link for “SeedMatrix.com”

To begin using the SeedMatrix database, producers copy and paste the following link into your browser:
https://seedmatrix.com/CottonIncRegistration
You will need to answer a few brief questions, then click “submit”. Once you click submit, an automatic email will be sent to you with your username and temporary password for you to login to SeedMatrix.
