The NC State University Thrips Infestation Predictor for Cotton is currently experiencing technical issues and is not forecasting thrips risk accurately.

This tool relies on weather data to calculate cotton growing degree days. However, it is currently accumulating degree days from the wrong biofix date, leading to inaccurate predictions.

Until this issue is resolved, we strongly advise against using the Thrips Infestation Predictor to estimate thrips risk in cotton. We are actively working to identify and implement a fix and will provide updates as soon as they become available.

Note that the Tobacco Thrips Flight and TSWV Intensity Predictor is working correctly.
